Michael Castro is the single dad to an amazingly smart toddler. The father-son duo appears to be shopping in a home goods store. Bear saw a statue of a pelican on a nest with a smaller pelican sitting in it. Pointing to the statue, he commented that the birds looked like egrets, but were actually pelicans.

Not knowing what an egret is, Michael was slightly lost, but asked his smart toddler who had taught him that. The answer was heartbreakingly sweet. “Sweet gal.” That is the nickname Michael and his son, Bear, use when referring to the boy’s mom. After googling an egret, Michael had to agree with his son’s assessment of the birds. They do look like egrets, but have the definitive head and coloration of pelicans.
Being a single parent is not easy, but Michael is excelling in that position. His son is now 4 years old, and the two are still putting out incredible content. Before a 24-hour trip to Nashville, Tennessee, the pair visited a Target store. This smart toddler went right to the water flossers and began telling his dad what they did and why he needed one. They did not make that purchase.
As Bear grows, his dad is busy teaching him things like budgeting. On a recent shopping trip, Michael gave Bear $10 to spend, and they went through the store. Explaining how pricing works, the smart toddler worked his way through the store, selecting items that fit within their budget.
The grocery store budgeting lesson continued in a second video. Michael is a real estate agent in his day job. When not at work, he and Bear spend time writing songs, visiting museums, and learning new stuff.
