When an iconic performer who’s toured for decades announces they’re officially finished, it feels like a breakup. Sir Rod Stewart has been a staple on the stage in cities around the world for so many years, but he’s ready to hang up his touring shoes. The legendary rocker announced his final tour in an Instagram post on September 28, 2026.

“Ladies and gentlemen, after much deliberation and sadness, I have to announce next year will be my last tour ever, ever, ever,” Rod announced in a video message. “I’m not retiring, but this will be the last rock and roll tour.”
Rod Stewart Will Play His Final Tour Dates in Europe
Rod recently played several North American cities during his “One Last Time” Tour. These 2027 stops, dubbed the “Final Encore Tour,” will be special shows in Europe.
“I wanna thank you for everything you’ve given me, and hopefully I’ve given you something in return,” he said. “Please come out and see me on the tour. It’s gonna be great!” Rod sang as he banged on the piano keys.
Fans hate to see Rod Stewart go, but continue to be impressed by his talent and energy.

While he won’t travel the world again following “The Encore Tour,” we hope Rod Stewart will continue to pop up from time to time. Following his recent health challenges, we can understand his desire to slow down. But in our hearts he will remain, Forever Young.
