When Richard Walker heard that it’s best to try and make work more fun, he didn’t take it lightly. The 33-year-old works at what is considered to be the busiest McDonald’s in the United Kingdom, so you can imagine how stressful his shifts can get, especially during a rush. Still, that hasn’t deterred him from finding creative ways to enjoy his day.
Rather than calling out each customers’ order number like normal, Richard adds some pizazz to the transaction by singing into a microphone. Or rather, he says their number between singing classic tunes like “Your Song” by Elton John. The cherry on top is that, while he’s giving out the food, he’s also holding a sign that displays his social media username, ukrichardwalker, encouraging others to look him up.
While there are no doubt some regulars who have grown accustomed to Richard’s creative ways, there are always new patrons for him to wow! That includes Joe Porton who, on their way home after visiting friends, chose to stop by this particular McDonald’s — and what a great choice that was! They captured the moment on camera and now even more folks are enjoying Richard’s delightful performances.
