Okay, so now that we’ve got that out of the way, who would you characterize as the sexiest male vocalist alive? Maybe you’re into the crooners that have an old-school aesthetic like Michael Buble, then again, perhaps a good country star like Luke Bryan will always have your heart. What about “The Late Late Show” host, James Corden? *Record scratch* Um, what?

A few months back, Corden stated that he felt today’s male singers just weren’t that romantic. He went on to make the bold claim that he is “the sexiest male vocalist alive.”

But Corden’s statement wouldn’t stand long. Only a few moments after declaring himself the king, who should emerge from the audience? None other than Usher!
The Grammy Award-winning singer was unimpressed.
“Let’s be honest,” he said, “when people imagine smooth, sensual, sexual, soulful voices, you know are they going to picture a guy like you or do they think of a guy like me, Usher?”

Hilariously, Corden doubled down on his assertion, saying he felt he was a “sensualier” singer than the veteran R&B crooner. It was, of course, at this point Usher that challenged the host to a sexy male vocals riff-off, accompanied by a cappella group The Filharmonic.

The two stood toe to toe flexing their singing chops to hits like “All My Life” by K-Ci & JoJo and “Mercy Mercy Me” by Marvin Gaye.
But things took an unexpected – and comical turn when a surprise third party threw his hat into the “sexiest singer” ring: actor Luke Evans!

After dissing Corden and Usher by saying they were battling it out “for second and third place,” he broke into a sensual cover of Foreigner’s “I Want To Know What Love Is.”
And honestly, if you didn’t know Luke could sing, get a fan ready because things seriously heat up.
