The BBC Breakfast account tweeted a video of the hilarious encounter, saying “the middle of the Firth of Forth is the last place you’d expect to pick up a hitchhiker and yet…” The tweet has people around the world cracking up.

There was some speculation that perhaps the kayaks looked similar to navigation buoys which seals often use to sun. Others speculated that the seal had joined them to escape from a predator or was in need of a rest…. But it may be the mischievous little guy was just looking to have some fun!
