Remember when you were a kid and you stubbed your toe, cut your finger or scraped your knee, and you whimpered and cried inconsolably and made yourself look as miserable as possible, but it was all just a ploy because you just wanted a cookie? Anyone who believes dogs aren’t capable of that kind of manipulation hasn’t met Sawyer.

“After getting two previous shots, my dog Sawyer began to realize he could milk the system. If he cried enough he knew he would get treats. This time he decided to be a little too dramatic,”Sawyer’s owner, Benjamin Winchell, explained on his YouTube page.

The video begins with Sawyer standing innocently enough in the vet’s office, his eyes soft, tail slightly thumping and mouth dangling open in a doggie version of a smile.
“So how you feeling? Ready to get your shot?”Winchell asks.
The clip then cuts to Sawyer sprawled on the floor, his tail still wagging happily. Then he sees a vet tech heading toward him, and the thumping slows to a nervous twitch.

The shot is administered pretty much without incident, and afterward Sawyer even does a full body shake — a dog’s way of turning the page on an unpleasant experience.
But then the room quiets, the soothing and fawning goes away – and that cues the hysterics.
