Reba truly is one of those celebrities who can do it all. Soon enough, the country singer will be hosting the CMA Awards. Here, she’ll debut a single off her upcoming album — but that’s not all this icon has up her sleeves. Recently, she filmed a pilot on NBC for a new sitcom. Although nothing is guaranteed right now, the show includes some a familiar face: Melissa Peterman who played Barbra Jean on the hit sitcom Reba.
Reba discussed much of this exciting news on The Jennifer Hudson Show. Naturally, this led to the two of them discussing her much beloved show, Reba. With Hudson being a big fan of the show herself, she had to ask Reba if she’d like to sing the show’s hit theme song, I’m a Survivor, together. And you know she was happy to oblige!
When singing together, Reba and Hudson prove why they’re both such praised singers — they sound incredible together! It’s no wonder the audience cheered so loudly for the two of them. Plus, even after all this time, I’m a Survivor is a song that connects with so many folks.
“I think the reason why so many people can connect with the song I’m a Survivor is because it’s relatable. I know you find the same thing in the songs you sing,” Reba says to Hudson. “If people can relate to it, they can connect to it. And I’m a Survivor — I mean, woman [who are] working hard doing two jobs and raising kids.”
