At this year’s Emmy Awards, Quinta Brunson took home the trophy for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. She’s the first Black woman to win the achievement in over four decades, and she didn’t take the honor lightly.
The star was clearly surprised by the win — but we weren’t! She’s absolutely hilarious in her role in Abbott Elementary.
Quinta Brunson gave an emotional and playful speech celebrating her Emmy award win. Obviously, the honor meant a lot to her. It’s a joy to witness her celebration.
“Oh man, wow.” She started her speech with tears in her eyes, choking up.
“I am so happy to be able to live my dream,” Quinta continued as she spoke. Her simple words were powerfully matched by her emotion and the audience’s thrill for her.
While Quinta Brunson is winning her first Emmy award, she’s been a favorite actress of fans for years.
“From doing skits on Vine to the Emmys! I’m so happy for her!” said one fan who’d been following her since way before her time on TV.
Congratulations, Quinta!
