It’s a great day to be an Aston Villa Fan, particularly if you’re Prince William. The future king of England positively loves soccer and watches as much as he can. He’s even taken his son, Prince George, along with him to watch their favorite team play live. On May 20, 2026, the Prince of Wales celebrated Aston Villa’s huge victory over the German SC Freiburg team in the Europa League final in Istanbul. It was a shutout for Aston Villa and the team’s first European Trophy since 1982. Prince William took off his crown for the evening and celebrated at a club with locals. It was a huge night for everyone.

Prince William Needed a Pint at the Club Following the Game
Photos from the evening show Prince William crying tears of joy as his beloved team takes home the victory. It’s always so much fun to watch your team win, and when it’s a historic victory, you might get caught in your feels. Following the Aston Villa game, Prince William partied with other soccer fans at a club in Turkey, in awe of his team’s accomplishment. Caach UJnai Emery had nothing but great things to say about the Prince of Wales.
“He’s phenomenal. He’s very approachable. He often comes to training, he’s with the players, he eats with us, and we talk about football above all, but also about life. Today he was here, very happy and very proud to be part of this with us,” the coach cheered.
He may be next in line to be king, but Prince William is also a man who wants to hit the club with friends and party like any average person. We just wish Kate could have joined them.
