Mom Shares Powerful Words With A Stranger Feeling Guilt Over Their Parent’s Death.

Screenshot of a Reddit post. The first message reads, "My mother died after a few months of giving birth to me. Whenever i asked how she died the answer was that she passed away in her sleep and no one knew why. I just learnt a few years ago that she had Cancer and was pregnant with me. Giving birth to me severally weakened her and eventually led to her death. I don't think I'll be able to ever forgive myself because from what I've heard from everyone, she was a good woman." Someone replied with the following message which can't be read fully: "Hey. I'm a mom and if I know anything, I know that yours would tell you this if she could. So I'm gonna tell you for her."

Being a parent is unlike anything else. So many folks attest to the fact that you can’t understand what it’s like to be responsible for a tiny human life until you are, making it difficult to always understand our own parents’ choices. This seemed to be true for one Reddit user who shared that they felt guilt over the loss of their Mom. For years, they were told that their Mom had died peacefully in her sleep just months after giving birth.

In reality, though, cancer was the cause of her passing, and being pregnant didn’t help. Even though this Reddit user was only a newborn, they expressed feeling guilty for playing a part in taking her life, especially since everyone talks about how she was such a wonderful person. When another Mom saw this post, she swooped in to lovingly reassure them that they couldn’t be more wrong. You can read their conversation in the post below.

"Hey. I'm a mom and if I know anything, I know that yours would tell you this if she could. So I'm gonna tell you for her. She never regretted it. Not for a second. You are made of everything that was best about her. Cancer may have ended her life, but getting the chance to create yours was her proudest moment. She faced the end with nothing but peace, knowing that you would live on where she couldn't. Sweetheart, you have nothing to forgive yourself for. You did not take her from this world. You are how she remains in it."
