Elliot Yamin made Paula Abdul Cry with the Same Song Twice
When Elliot Yamin competed on Idol in 2006 and finished in third behind Katherine McPhee and Taylor Hicks. During his season, he sang A Song for You, so it was only fitting that when he returned, that was his duet song. Twenty years ago, Paula Abdul cried watching Elliot Yamin perform, and she did the same thing on Monday night. We can understand why she felt so emotional. He performs just as well today as he did back in his twenties.
Seeing Paula Abdul and Elliot Yamin back together again felt so special to OG American Idol fans.
“This performance gave me chills in my entire upper torso. Absolutely riveting. Had to rewind and watch it several times. I have loved Elliot Yamin since his first audition. And Jordan has been one of my favorites this season. This duet was phenomenal. So glad Jordan made it through tonight. I hope he wins! Wow wow wow!” A fan wrote.
“Beautifully sung by both. Much love to Paula … she is a light of kindness and sincerity, and has always been so supportive of contestants on Idol. I was happy to see her on this episode,” a fan agreed.
It’s so hard to believe it’s been 20 years. What an amazing moment.
