So often in life, we judge people based on their appearances. Before we get to know what’s in their heart, we make unfair assumptions. Arnett Johnson is a man of very little means. He lives on the streets of Miami and likely receives stares and dirty looks from people who know nothing about him. On April 8, 2026, Arnett became a hero when he spotted a young boy wandering alone late at night. Arnett approached the child near Northwest Seventh Avenue and 17th Street and then called the police for help.

Arnett Johnson Felt a Calling That Night
We’ve often heard people say they were in the right place at the right time. As far as Arnett Johnson is concerned, it was more like divine intervention.
“God sent me there. I had to do what God say to do” the homeless man told Local 10.
Arnett explained that he’d been living on a bench nearby since his release from prison. When he saw the little boy, he looked for an adult, but there was no one around.
“I’m looking around for a parent, but I looked, and I don’t see nobody. You know what I’m saying? So I’m like, what is this kid doing out here outside at this time of night?” he said.
Arnett Johnson stayed with the little boy until law enforcement showed up to help. The police recognized his good deed.
“This was a good Samaritan that was sleeping in the streets, and he called us and gave us that information. You know, kudos to him. We don’t know what would have happened if he would have remained on the streets,” Miami police Officer Mike Vega said per Local 10.
Arnett Johnson may not be rich in material possessions, but he is rich in love for his fellow man. That will take him far.
