If you’ve ever been to a McDonald’s birthday party complete with orange drink, a frozen sheet cake, and little aluminum ashtrays, we’ve got big news. McDonald’s announced on August 5 a new nostalgic meal that will transport us right back to McDonaldland, when life was simpler. All of your favorites are back for a limited time. For the first time in two decades, Ronald McDonald, Grimace, Birdie, Hamburglar, Mayor McCheese, and the Fry Friends will be featured on six McDonaldland Meal collectible tins beginning August 12. The meal includes the limited-edition Mt. McDonaldland Shake and “the choice of Quarter Pounder® with Cheese or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets®, World Famous Fries®, and even a first-of-its-kind collectible souvenir that’s sure to unlock core memories.”

The McDonaldland Meal Will Bring The Nostalgia
McDonald’s knows how badly we all want to escape to a simpler time, and the new McDonaldland meal is scratching that itch.
“Over the past few years we’ve seen how fans flock to our characters, everyone from Grimace to the Hamburglar. But many, especially the new generation, don’t know that’s just the tip of the iceberg. There’s an entire magical world of McDonaldland filled with characters, places and lore,” Jennifer “JJ” Healan, McDonald’s VP, U.S. Marketing, Brand, Content & Culture said in a release. “And so, for the first time in decades we are taking fans on a trip to McDonaldland with an immersive experience that taps into the past to create the future. It’s a chance for us to give fans a new, modern way to experience this magical world.”
In addition to the new McDonaldland Meal, McDonald’s will launch a Mt. McDonald shake “inspired by the vibrant blue ‘lava’ and pink clouds.”
And it gets even better. For those of us who don’t want to stop at a McDonaldland Meal, McDonald’s will also launch collaborations with Pacson and Away on August 12, for exclusive merch.
We don’t know about you, but a McDonaldland Meal sounds really great right about now. If only we could find a steaming hot metal slide to burn the back of our legs on. That would make it perfect.
