Matthew McConaughey’s Birthday Celebrations With Daughter Almost Went Upside-Down, But Everything Turns Out “Alright.”

Matthew McConaughey

Matthew McConaughey lost his phone while indulging his daughter’s wish of riding rollercoasters for her birthday, but some kind and considerate workers at Six Flags ensured everything turned out “alright, alright, alright.”

The Oscar winner shared his story while chatting on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. He explained that his daughter had a birthday on January 3rd, and on January 2nd at 9 PM, she decided she wanted to spend her special day at an amusement park. So, the McConaughey family drove out to Six Flags Fiesta in San Antonio and “rode every rollercoaster at least three times.”

“I’m still sore,” Matthew noted.

Matthew McConaughey endured 26 different rides for his daughter’s birthday, and he almost came out unscathed. But on the last ride of the day, his kids noticed that his phone had fallen out of his pocket while they were blazing through an upside-down loop.

“I’ve been Mr. Dad with my jacket and pockets, right? Cause I know I’m gonna have to carry snacks, and everyone’s phones, and all that stuff…. So, I’m loaded. I’m dad at Six Flags,” he laughed. “Everything’s been buttoned up.”

‘On the very last right, just as we finish, behind me, Livingston and Vida are going, ‘Papa, I think your phone flew out on that last loop!'” he continued.

“Props to Six Flags” For Finding Matthew McConaughey’s Phone!

Matthew McConaughey didn’t believe it. He was certain he had “his stuff together” being Mr. Dad, but when he emptied his pockets, he found everything but his phone. After a little detective work, the actor realized the phone was out of reach.

“There was a security guard that was with us who had been videoing us,” Matthew said. “… he stopped on this frame, and we’re upside down, and there’s this phone right above my kids, flying off.”

The phone fell into the middle of a swamp. So, he figured it was gone for good. But the employees told him they’d go look for it when the park closed. They followed through with their words—and they found it.

“The next afternoon at 6 PM, my phone shows up in the mail!” Matthew told the audience.

Not only did he get his phone back, but it still worked.

“Props to Six Flags!” Jimmy gushed. “That’s awesome!”
