16-year-old Maddie Morley has always dreamed of attending prom. Just like most high school girls, Maddie looked forward to wearing a glamorous dress and dancing the night away with a handsome date. But Maddie’s mom worried that it would never happen for her little girl. Maddie has autism, and her mom was concerned because “historically, there isn’t always a way for special needs students to be included” in prom.

Little did Maddie’s mom know, Maddie wasn’t just going to be asked to prom, she was going to get a prom of her very own! The special prom was put together by an organization called Evening of Dreams, a group that provides magical nights for students with special needs. They organized a giant party just for Maddie and for other members of the special needs community where she was crowned Prom Queen!

Maddie’s mom called the night “just magic.”
But the special prom wouldn’t be complete without the perfect date. That’s why a popular Senior football player named Kooper Richardson asked Maddie to the dance.
In the video below, he nervously waits behind a curtain before surprising Maddie with a sign and flowers, asking her to the dance in front of the whole school! Not only that, he’s skipping his senior class trip to Disneyland to attend the special Evening of Dreams prom.
