From the day the Garden City, New York, native attended his first Broadway show at 6 years old, he knew being up on stage was his dream. “I love the audience, I love the crowd, I love the stage, the props, the costumes,” Luke said. “I want to do what they do.”

After spending his childhood putting on shows at home with his sister and taking every opportunity to belt it out, it was time to share his talent with the world. So, the 12-year-old took his voice to the “America’s Got Talent” stage, where he hoped to impress the judges – particularly his favorite, Julianne Hough.

“Me and my sister have been following you and your brother (Derek Hough) dancing for a very long time,” Luke told his idol. But Julianne was the one starstruck by his compelling performance of “She Used To Be Mine” from the Broadway musical, “Waitress.”

Luke’s pure, incredible talent brought everyone to their feet, including the judges, who shared nothing but praise.
“You killed it!” Gabrielle Union gushed.
“You have so much poise,” added Howie Mandel. “People come on here and, hopefully, dreams come true. And I think that we are watching the beginning of your dream coming true.”

But it was Julianne’s words that had tears running down Luke’s cheeks.
“I’m extremely flattered that you would even look up to my brother and I with a voice like that, with an energy like that, because you have such talent and grace. You have something so special,” she said, getting a little choked up.

“And I believe that not only are you going to become a star and get your dreams to come true and I don’t think you have to wait that much longer because…” she added before hitting the final Golden Buzzer of the season!
