Lionel Richie’s Ex-Wife Shares Update on Ailing Star’s Health

Lionel Richie gave fans in Minnesota quite a scare on June 24, 2026. The star unexpectedly left the stage in St. Paul during the show and never returned. Fans later learned an ambulance transported him to an area hospital because he’d experienced a frightening dizzy spell. Lionel canceled additional stops in Chicago and Columbus and has yet to comment on his health. As rumors continue to swirl, Lionel’s ex-wife, Brenda Harvey Richard, hoped to set the record straight.

According to Brenda, Lionel Richie is on the mend. She took to X to share an update.

“Thanking everyone for their concern! Lionel is OK and will be back on the stage,” she wrote.

Fans appreciated Brenda’s update and let Lionel Richie know he’s in their prayers.

“Thank you for the update. He’s such an incredible human and talent! Take good care of him,” a fan wrote.

“Thank you for this update! As you already know, Lionel’s greatly admired & respected worldwide. His wellbeing far surpasses any of our wants for him to return to the stage. I sincerely hope he’s feeling better & experiences nothing but good health going forward!” Another fan agreed.

This person was at the show and loved what they saw.

“My son and I were there on Wednesday night and we were so impressed with him, hope his recovery goes well and hopefully we see him back in Minnesota soon!” They wrote.

While the news came as a relief to many fans, some criticized the singer in the comment section.

“People need to retire already. They surely don’t need the money,” someone wrote.

Brenda quickly clapped back. “It is not up to you when people should retire. Keep your own house in order,” she wrote.
