Heartbreaking Update on Lionel Richie After Star Left Show in an Ambulance

Lionel Richie shocked audiences in St. Paul, Minnesota, on June 24, 2026, when he walked off stage for an unexpected intermission. A short time later, a bandmate appeared and told fans that Lionel would not return to the stage. Later reports confirmed Lionel left the venue in an ambulance after experiencing a sudden dizzy spell on stage. He was treated at an area hospital, leaving the remainder of his tour dates in limbo. Live Nation Chicago shared that Lionel Richie would not perform his next two shows in Chicago and Columbus.

Lionel Richie’s Doctors Want Him Well

Live National Chicago explained that “under advisement by doctors to rest and return to full health,” Lionel Richie’s shows scheduled for June 26 and June 27 were postponed. He is scheduled to hit the stage with Earth, Wind, & Fire on June 30 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

“Lionel is heartbroken to postpone these two shows and cannot wait to be back performing for his fans. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes fans who have tickets for these two shows. Rescheduled dates will be announced soon,” Live Nation shared.

The news saddened Lionel Richie’s fans, who looked forward to seeing him live. Those who were at his St. Paul show would love to have him back.

“What about Saint Paul Mn ? An hour concert was not enough….get well soon, “ a fan wrote.

This fan agreed, writing, “Will he come back to St. Paul to finish the second half of his show? I waited my whole life to see him!! Would love more than anything if he came back to do so. Most importantly, praying he is okay!”

Others lifted up prayers and well-wishes for Lionel Richie.

“Man really hope we don’t lose him too this year,” a fan wrote. “We’ve already lost too many amazing people.”
