What would you do if you had the chance to meet one of your favorite celebrities? I imagine that it’s a lot easier to plan than it is to execute. Still, when a kid just so happened to spot Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, he came up with the perfect idea. Rather than simply asking for an autograph or photo, this clever kid asked for something unexpected: to play rock, paper, scissors with The Rock himself. Truly, what an iconic kid.
Johnson was shopping in Target when the fan approached him. If the actor and former wrestler was busy, he certainly didn’t let that stop him from accepting this adorable kid’s challenge. In the first round, Dwayne wins. He does so, fittingly, by playing rock. But they couldn’t end their game there. Instead, the two continued with four ties in a row. Finally, though, this determined kid did the impossible…
“Gotta respect this kid’s tenacity — he ain’t taking an L in public from The Final Boss,” Dwayne writes in the caption of his Instagram video. “You know I wasn’t leaving this store without making sure this kid gets his ‘I beat the Rock at Rock, Paper, Scissors’ story.”

Because a crowd slowly grew as the two of them played, by the time the fan got his much-deserved victory, there were lots of folks around to celebrate! I have a feeling this kid will be re-telling the story of this fateful day for a long time. And, who knows, maybe one day they’ll have a rematch…
“Good job, kid,” Dwayne says. “Payback is coming!!”
