Even though it may feel like your little one is constantly making up fantasies, it is still important to make sure you are listening and checking out all of their stories for accuracy.

Carolyn Cook is a grandmother who learned this lesson one evening in the parking lot of a Lowe’s in Franklin, Virginia. While driving around and looking for a parking spot, her six-year-old grandson Karter Thorpe saw a man lying on the pavement next to a truck.
When the man began to twitch he called out to his grandma to turn around. Cook later shared that she thought Thorpe was just seeing things with his “active imagination” and she kept driving forward.

That’s when Thorpe called out, “No, you have to stop! He’s hurt, he’s hurt. You have to go back!â€
“I said that a few times and then she turned around to show me I was wrong,†said Thorpe.
However, when they turned around, Cook was shocked to find that there really was a man lying on the ground. Cook jumped out of the car to find out that he was struggling to breathe and called 911 right away while another good Samaritan stopped to perform CPR.
Cook was unable to learn the man’s name before he was rushed away by the ambulance, but his family– who wishes to remain unknown– has reached out through Facebook to share their gratitude.
They explained that the man who Thorpe found had just suffered a massive heart attack, and Thorpe’s determination to have his grandma turn his car around is sure to have saved that man’s life.

“I still get weepy. I’m just thankful. Thankful that God put me in that parking lot when he did,” said Cook. “[Karter] would not take no for answer; he was determined and I’m glad he was.”
