Karen Waldrup & Ryan Argast Battle It Out With Fiery Duet On “The Voice”

Karen Waldrup and Ryan Argast stand face to face, about as close as they can get, while singing a duet on "The Voice."

Karen Waldrup and Ryan Argast just took the Battle Round on The Voice to a whole new level. Although we’ve seen plenty of breathtaking performances during this round of the competition before, none have been quite like this. It goes to show that even though this is Dan + Shay’s first time as coaches, they certainly know what they’re doing! This time, it just so happened to include them assigning one of their own songs: Save Me the Trouble.

This isn’t Ryan’s first time taking on one of the duo’s hits. In fact, he performed Speechless during his audition. Meanwhile, Karen’s country style makes this song a great choice for her, too. But the real magic comes from the chemistry these two have on stage. They manage to convey the emotions of the song in a way that, quite literally, has the coaches on their feet.

As incredible as both of them are in this performance, Dan + Shay can only send one of them forward in the competition. Needless to say, neither of them made this decision easy on the duo. Still, in the end, it’s Karen they choose.

Karen Waldrup and Ryan Argast Light Up The Voice Stage With Their Electric Performance

“Ryan made this a very difficult decision, but in the end, I feel like Karen really has the stuff to be able to win this show,” Shay Mooney says. “Her charisma and overall stage presence is really impressive.”

Fans of Ryan are disappointed, of course, but it seems there’s one thing many of them can agree on: Similar to Dan + Shay, Ryan and Karen would make a fantastic duo themselves!
