December 8 marked the 43 anniversary of John Lennon’s assassination outside his apartment building, the Dakota, in New York City. It was a tragic event that changed the course of history for music lovers everywhere. Before his death, John welcomed two sons, Julian, in 1963, with ex-wife Cynthia Lennon and Sean Ono Lennon, and with his wife until his death, Yoko Ono. John Lennon’s two sons, now 61 and 49, rarely make public appearances, but recently, the pair got together at the Dakota and shared images on Instagram of their reunion.

John Lennon’s Sons Looked Happy To Be Together
Julian shared the happy images with the caption, “A Goodnight kiss for my brother, after spending the evening with him, having a lil dinner & chatting the night away, at The Dakota. Something we rarely get to do…Thankful.”
Fans loved seeing John Lennon’s sons so happy together. This fan shared their own sweet John-inspired story, “My granddaughter is named Lennon after John. We loved him and hello would love that his two boys have made peace and are living out his legacy. ‘All you need is love.'”
Another wrote, “The time that makes life worth living more than the rest of GODS gifts. Love and happiness to Julian and Riley.”
This fan shared a beloved quote from Astrid Alauda, “There is no love like the love for a brother. There is no love like the love from a brother.”
According to People, Julian never lived in the Dakota, but Sean grew up there. John Lennon and Yoko Ono owned several units in the building and created a combined living and creative space. At just 40 years old, John was shot and killed by crazed Beatles fan Mark David Chapman in front of his home. At the time, John Lennon’s sons were just 5 and 17 at the time of his tragic death.
