73-Yr-Old Teams Up With Daughter To Lose Weight And Has Incredible Transformation.

It’s never too late to change your life.

Don’t believe us? Just ask Joan MacDonald of Ontario, Canada. The 73-year-old weighed just under 200 pounds when a doctor told her she would have to keep increasing her medication if she didn’t lose some weight. So Joan turned to her daughter, a fitness trainer and competitive powerlifter, for help.

Thankfully, she was in good hands! Michelle got to work designing a custom workout plan for her mom, while Joan focused on eating healthy foods.

In just three years, Joan experienced a stunning transformation. She lost more than 50 pounds and is undeniably ripped!

Now she works out every day and has even modeled for fitness magazine covers! She’s also started her own personal training company to support her fellow seniors as they get off the couch and back into life.

As she likes to say, “You can’t turn back the clock, but you can wind it up again!”

“I never in a million years could have dreamt up this chapter of my life,” Joan wrote on Instagram. “It just goes to show you that life is indeed a box of chocolates, as the great Forrest Gump once said. You just never know what you’re about to bite into.”

Joan credits a few healthy habits for getting her where she is now. In addition to strength and endurance training, she uses iPhone apps to track her calories and exercise each day. She also practices yoga and mindfulness.

I meditate for about 20 minutes every day, come rain or shine. I am far from perfect, but boy oh boy it has helped me become more aware of my thoughts and patterns. It just helps me to feel good about myself and more at peace. I can definitely say that my life has improved since I started meditating.

Aside from meditation, she’s found that simply deciding to make positive changes helped her follow through.

“I made up my mind that I could do it,” she said. ” And I refused to quit no matter how daunting it was.”
