The subject of passing on is often viewed of as morbid or often something to be afraid of. But when one is surrounded by love and comfort, those final moments can be bittersweet, something surviving loved ones will look back on, grateful to have been there.

Kathy Walker-McCardle was able to capture touching footage of her beloved grandfather before he passed. Kathy said,
“I was blessed to capture a video of my 97-year-old grandpa, as he sang: ‘How Great Thou Art’ from his hospital bed, with dear friends and family.”
In the video, we see a family member sing a verse of the hymn “How Great Thou Art.” Soon grandpa joins in with a heart-melting harmony.

No one is ready for the moment to end, so one of the relatives suggests singing the chorus a second time. Again, there is a wonderful moment of harmony and worship.

According to Kathy, the morning after she was so fortunate as to capture this touching moment, her grandpa “went to be with Jesus.”

Though she and her family will no doubt miss him very much, he left them a rare gift. No doubt Kathy will treasure this wonderful scene and share it with other loved ones for years to come.
