Hollie Steel is an extremely talented and brave young performer. She made it through her initial audition on Britain’s Got Talent with Simon saying with confidence, “You are sailing through to the next round!”

In the video below, we find Hollie in her semi-final round on the show. She decided to sing the classic song “Edelweiss” from The Sound of Music, a beautiful and fitting choice for the young girl. However, her performance got off to a shaky start.
Her shrill, faltering voice took everyone by surprise and eventually her subpar performance caught up to her when, midway through her song, she broke down completely.
The combination of nerves and embarrassment totally overwhelmed the 10-yr-old and sent her mom and the show’s hosts running to console her on stage. As hard as this was to watch for Hollie, it was amazing to see the show’s hosts and judges stop everything to care for the little girl who was obviously overwhelmed by the spotlight.
After a moment of uncertainty about whether she would get a second chance, Simon assured Hollie that the producers would find time to let her give it another go later in the show. And give it a go she did!
The result was absolutely incredible. Sometimes all you need is a second chance and the support of family and friends to truly shine!
