Ashlee Montague showcased her graceful balance and perfect technique during the May 28th episode by walking down a line of glass wine bottles on pointe. To add more intensity and danger to the stunt, she did it on a table suspended high above the crowd.
If the ballerina had fallen to the America’s Got Talent stage, should would have been seriously injured, if not killed. But she took the chance and successfully toed the line.
Ashlee’s routine was not flawless. She had a few heart-dropping slips and near falls, but she still impressed judges Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum, Simon Cowell, and Howie Mandel with her strength, agility, and bravery.
“The strength and concentration it took to do this was amazing, especially with the NOISE OF THE CROWD,” a fan wrote under a YouTube video of the stunt.
“I was shaking with her,” another admitted. “Felt so proud when she made it even though I don’t know her at all. That’s talent!!”
The Professional Ballerina “Never Trained For Anything Harder” Than Her “America’s Got Talent” Audition
During her audition, Ashlee shared that ballet has always been her passion. She began studying and practicing the craft when she was 4. At 33, she still loves to dance and has turned it into a career.
“The challenges of ballet are incredibly grueling,” she said. “People have told me I’m too tall, too short, too big, too everything. This is my dream. And if someone else doesn’t see it, that’s okay. They close the door, I’ll climb through a window.”
“That’s why I’m so excited about America’s Got Talent [where] I can be uniquely me and you really can pave your own way,” the ballerina continued.
Ashlee told the judges that she practiced her AGT audition non-stop for an entire month, and she even impressed herself when she finally pulled it off.
“I’ve never trained harder for anything,” she said.
