As 2019 draws to an end, we can’t help but remember the year’s many lifesavers, game changers, and champions of good, and we’re not the only ones! Google just released an inspiring “Year in Search” recap video to celebrate the outstanding memories and achievements we’ll carry with us into 2020.
YouTube
The video opens with a line that sets the scene: “Throughout history, in times of uncertainty, the world looks for heroes. In 2019, searches for heroes soared.”
The best part is, people weren’t just interested in Marvel characters. Instead, they were searching for real guardian angels – much like the group of teens that saved a little boy when he fell from a ski lift.

They were also looking for everyday individuals who possess powers of their own making and refuse to accept that they can’t accomplish their dreams. After all, who could resist smiling when they think about the first runner to complete a marathon in less than two hours?

We can’t forget the NASA scientists who captured the first-ever photo of a black hole! Without their intelligence and passion for discovery, we wouldn’t be able to make so many incredible advances in technology.
YouTube
Of course, few can beat the incredible moms and dads who would do anything for their kids, even if it means skipping their own college graduation to attend their child’s instead.
YouTube
And no heroic gathering would be complete without the selfless individuals who risk their lives for their country. We’ll never tire of watching them return home.

It can be hard to stay positive when life gets tough, but these stories really put things in perspective. Thank you, Google, for reminding us of all the good in the world!
