Fisherman Didn’t Expect To Catch This Purrfectly Adorable Critter Out On The Water!

A fisherman using a fishing pole.

When Erik Koffski took to the water to catch some fish, he had no idea he’d end up bringing home something even better: a new four-legged friend! This fisherman was minding his own business on Minnesota’s Madison Lake when he heard a cat meowing in the distance. Before he knew it, the animal was swimming toward his boat! Surprised, Erik welcomed the kitty aboard and did his best to dry the little guy off.

It seemed like the cat didn’t want to leave the fisherman’s side, so the two of them spent the day on the water together. Erik told Fox 9 that the clingy creature climbed all over him, at one point making himself comfortable on the man’s shoulder. This kitty got so cozy, he even tried to take a nap there! Unfortunately, though, Erik’s movements jostled the animal awake.

Once the fishing trip came to a close, the angler decided to take the kitty home. The stray was more than willing to get into Erik’s car. Since the fisherman had already messaged his wife about the cat, she wasn’t surprised to see him. In fact, the couple’s son had already named him Fisher!

Before the new pet could enter the house, though, Erik wanted to make sure he was flea-free. Fisher had to stay in the garage until then. Once that was over, he quickly became a beloved member of the family.

Erik’s wife, Amy, believes it was no coincidence that Fisher swam into their lives. She thinks it may have been fate! After all, the Koffski family wasn’t planning to adopt a kitty. However, as soon as this sweet cat showed up on the fisherman’s boat, there was no going back!

“We didn’t want a cat, but we want him,” Amy said to Fox 9. “He’s found his place here. He’s ours.”

What a precious instance of the cat distribution system working its wonders!
