Fans And Friends Shared Birthday Wishes For Mel Brooks

Not many people live a life as long and full as Mel Brooks, and those who care about him made sure to let him know on his 99th birthday.

“Happy Birthday to the man, the G.O.A.T., the hero, and the one who defined what horror/comedy can be: Mr. Mel Brooks, celebrating his 99th birthday today,” Stephen Gibbons shared on X.

“Happy birthday to a national treasure, Mel Brooks, who turns 99 today. If he’d never done anything else, I would be forever grateful to him for Blazing Saddles. He was married to Anne Bancroft for 41 years, until her death in 2005,” another fan shared.

Michael Warburton made sure to include Mel’s beloved wife in his tribute. “She was the love of his life, they’re one of my favourite showbiz couples of all time – and so it seems only fit & proper to remember Anne Bancroft’s importance & influence on her husband – one of my very few heroes – MEL BROOKS – who celebrates 99 Candles today.”

Legendary comedian Steve Martin may have put it best in his tribute. “The greatest comedy mind ever. Mel Brooks is 99 today but always number 1,” he shared on X.
