Dying Woman Gives Breathtaking Final Performance Of Stevie Nicks’ “Landslide”

Image shows Stevie Nicks Impersonator Marirose Powell singing "Landslide" from her hospital ben.

After spending decades as a Stevie Nicks impersonator, a brave woman sings one more song from her hospital bed. Marirose Powell was the lead singer for Marirose & The Gypsies. So many people told her that she sounded a lot like Stevie Nicks. She became an impersonator, and the band added more Stevie Nicks songs to their sets. Marirose wanted to belt out one last song, so from her hospital bed, she sang “Landslide.”

there isnt a day that goes by that i wish we’d had more time with her. she was truly the only person i’ve ever known to leave people better than she found them. until we can be together again mama…

About a year ago, the singer and her band joined forces with another band, the Sweet Taunts. Christine Taunton, lead singer for the Taunts, performs many of Christine McVie’s songs. As you know, Nicks and McVie were great friends, and their voices together are magical. The new band, Mystic Moon, performed a set called “A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac.”

Marirose was a true performer until the end. She passed away peacefully on April 10, 2024, about a week after singing from her hospital bed. We’re unsure who the two guitar players in the video are. Her daughter-in-law, Sam Xenos, recorded and posted the video on TikTok. There is a longer version on the Marirose Tribute page on Facebook. Even while suffering health issues, Marirose’s talent shone through. Her voice falters a bit while singing the line, “I’m getting older, too.” It was a perfect song selection for the moment, although sad.

Marirose Powell passed surrounded by family and friends. Her family posted on Facebook to pass the message to fellow performers and fans. The page “Remembering Marirose Powell” is full of heartwarming messages, photos, and videos of Marirose. There is love flowing there.

As a Stevie Nicks impersonator, Marirose was one of the best. She will be fondly remembered. Please share her final song.
