A first-year reporter asked Draymond if the devastating floods that hit Houston last week had anything to do with their 121-94 victory over the Rockets. Instead of entertaining such an insensitive question, Draymond responded with conviction.

“I pray for the city of Huston. You don’t want to see anyone go through that. You’re trying to get a controversial statement out of me? It’s not going to happen, I feel sorry for the people of Huston.”

Instead of getting angry, Draymond responded firmly and truthfully… we could all learn a bit about confrontation from this thoughtful, talented athlete.  The lesson we learn from him: when we are met with inane prompts meant to cause chaos, rise above it and focus on what really matters.
