The students from Georgia Tech’s Scheller College of Business did just that. They wanted to thank a security guard, Marcus Burns, who always went the extra mile to make their days better. The students planned to raise $150 as a token of their thanks for the beloved security guard. In just a few weeks, their heartfelt plan morphed into a movement. Over 15o students raised $1,600 dollars for the unsuspecting man, and there were tears aplenty.

Then there’s the story of UFC students banding together to raise money for the cheerful campus bus driver Maurice. In only three days, 376 students raised $450 dollars for “the kindest man they’d ever met.”

But most recently, the guys from DUDE. Be Nice and students from Heritage High School in Brentwood, CA banded together to show a little love for their favorite campus police officer. Officer Mitch was about to have his mind blown in the best way.

The students surprised him with a special video, a flash mob, and special gifts including a bucket full of softballs that had the students heartfelt sentiments written on them. They couldn’t do enough to show him how much he meant to them, “You make an environment where we feel accepted and wanted. You are always out there to support us.”

Check out the moment that Officer Mitch gets the surprise of a lifetime, when hundreds of kids band together to absolutely make his day. In times like these, their kind gesture meant more than they could ever imagine.
