Twin Sisters Discover Father Is Dying, Celebrate Life’s Precious Moments With Bridal Photoshoot.

“Every girl imagines walking down the aisle with her father.” writes photographer Lindsey Rabon in a blog post. “I was fortunate enough to experience that first hand, and my dad’s tear filled eyes are a moment I will NEVER forget. But some women are not given that same opportunity.”

Lindsey is writing about Becca and Sarah Duncan, two 23-year-old twins whose 80-year old father, sick with Alzheimer’s, most likely will not be there to walk them down the aisle. The twins have both been in relationships for the last year, but neither sister is engaged or plans to be anytime soon. So they staged a photoshoot with Dad so that he could still have the joy of seeing his girls as brides.

The girls– from Grapevine, Texas– told ABC News that their dad had recently been moved into a 24-hour nursing facility. That’s when they came up with the idea.

“The entire experience was the best thing in the world.” said Becca. ” Seeing him coming down the hall and seeing us in our wedding dresses and him smiling. It meant so much to us.”

Photographer Lindsey Rabon captured the beautiful moment. “While its not a replacement for the real thing, I hope that– for this moment– they enjoyed this time with their father.”

Rabon was so moved by the brief shoot (due to Dad’s poor health, they took the photos in just 10 minutes and in a neighbor’s yard, a familiar place) that she ended up donating the photos to the girls. The bridal gowns and bouquets were also donated.

“Every girl dreams about her big wedding and her dad walking her down the aisle… It would be awesome to have our dad there. He was our superhero. He was our Superman growing up.”
