Move over, Keyboard Cat; there’s a new kitty musician in town! Barney is an adorable feline who loves to tickle the ivories. He has over 18,000 fans on TikTok, and his videos typically get thousands of likes. In the clips, the orange tabby sits at an electric keyboard and taps the piano keys with his paws. Every so often, he’ll let out a gentle “meow” to jazz things up, but that’s about the extent of his repertoire.
Bass guitarist Jeffin Rodegheri saw one of Barney’s videos and was so delighted that he couldn’t resist adding his own special flair. He created a four-string piece using his bass to complement Barney’s piano stylings, and the result is surprisingly good! It’s the kind of moody, atmospheric melody that would fit well in a movie soundtrack. Not bad for a cat!
