The song’s topped the Billboard Hot 100 for the last 20 weeks, making it the longest non-holiday song at No.1. If Ella Langley can hold on to that spot for the next three weeks, she’ll officially dethrone Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas,” which currently holds the record of 22 weeks at the top of the chart.

The Song’s Success Surprised Ella Langley
Ella Langley told Billboard earlier in 2026 that she loved “Choosin’ Texas,” but never expected it to be the chart topper it’s become.
“We loved the song when we wrote it, but none of us thought that it would be the song to do everything it’s doing,” Langley told Billboard earlier this year about “Choosin’ Texas,” Ella said. “It keeps giving us a reason to celebrate new milestones.”
Fans on social media noticed just how hot Ella Langley is right now, and it’s not just her No. 1 song.
“Ella Langley dominating the Hot 100 with ‘Choosin’ Texas’ at #1 for 20 weeks — that’s legendary territory. She’s got three songs in the top 10 too. Country music is having a massive moment right now,” someone wrote.
This person agreed, writing, “Ella Langley is quietly running the Hot 100. Four songs in the top 10 and 20 weeks at number one.”
Will Ella Langley remain at the top of the list when Mariah Carey defrosts after Halloween? That remains to be seen, but it sure seems like “Choosin’ Texas” is up for the challenge.
