Everything is new to a baby, which means it doesn’t take much to keep them entertained or set them off into a giggle-fit. On the flipside, it doesn’t take a lot to scare the living daylights out of them either, and parents often use that in the most diabolical ways.
Baby Jaimes, for instance, got the fright of her life one day when Mom showed up wearing a face mask. She was just being considerate – her skin should be soft and supple, considering how much time Jaimes spends hanging out on her shoulder. But the thoughtful gesture didn’t fly with her little girl, who responded in sheer terror.

Things probably would’ve gone better if the mask had been tinted in a pastel, baby-friendly color like pink or yellow. But c’mon, how would you react when a charcoal-black face half the size of your entire body stared back at you? Poor Jaimes must’ve thought she was a goner.
“It’s just a face mask” Mom coos at her little girl, trying to calm her blood-curdling shrieks everytime she lays eyes back on her once normal-looking mother.

Trying another approach, little Jaimes averts her gaze thinking if she doesn’t see this baby-eating monster, maybe it won’t see her either…?

Here’s hoping sweet Jaimes hasn’t been scarred for life, because it won’t be long before she’s slopping that goo all over her own face to maintain her super-soft skin.
