It can be tough to wean a child off a bottle and onto any type of cup. They’ve become so accustomed to drinking one way and the sloppiness that can come with the transition is probably pretty alarming.

For many tykes, the dreaded cup can be a mortal enemy – why is the brim so hard, why is the liquid spilling everywhere?! It’s like adults grappling with a transition from silverware to eating solely with your fingers (no thanks). But there’s at least one baby that wasn’t scared or intimidated by the experience at all.

When baby Gavin’s dad Michael decided to give the little guy water from a cup, he probably had no idea what to expect.
Very quickly, though, it’s clear that the little guy is pretty pumped about the experience.

Wide-eyed, he pauses for a moment to really take it all in… and then, look at his huge, happy smile!

But it only gets better! Gavin gleefully rolls his head back after another sip.
Maybe it’s the fact that Dad’s walking him through the whole experience or just that little Gavin loves water, but either way, it’s clear that the tot is over the moon with the brand-new drinking method.
