Six-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams is more than just an incredible actress. She’s also a wife, a mother, and a real-life hero. During an appearance on the Smartless podcast with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett, Amy blew the men away with an incredible story about saving a stabbing victim while out to dinner. Amy, her husband, Darren Le Gallo, their daughter, and her father were dining in Santa Monica when they heard screaming. She and her dad ran to help.

Amy Adams and Her Dad Stepped in as Heroes While Waiting for Police
“We ran over, and he’d been stabbed in the neck,” Amy explained. “So he was bleeding, and his friends were freaking out. So luckily, we were going to the beach. We grabbed towels. My dad has been on lots of scenes. I guess he attracts them as well, and applied pressure.”
Amy spoke softly to the stab victim and helped to keep him calm as paramedics made their way to the beach. “An ambulance rushed the man off, and Amy thought it was the end of their story. In the craziest twist of fate, Amy ran into the man a year later.
“A guy walks up to me in the restaurant. He’s like, ‘I heard a story that you and your dad were on the scene of a guy getting stabbed,’” Amy recalled.
Amy and the man exchanged pleasantries, and then something incredible happened. She explained that the man gestured to himself, and she realized he was the person whom she and her dad had saved.
“It was him, and he was like all teary, and he had his son with him, and Wow. Yeah. It was so crazy,” she added.
Amy Adams’ story stunned the hosts, but in the same vein, they knew she’d be a hero if anyone ever needed her.
