Every child will develop a fixation on something or someone at some point. Ali McArthur knows all about that as the mom of four boys. Currently, one of her twins is particularly fond of all dance moves. The other is all about Jack Sparrow. While playing T-Ball, the two will be seen throughout the game acting out their favorite thing of the week.

Number 13 is the dancer, and Number 5 is the Jack Sparrow fan. This youngster has perfected the art of running like his hero. He imitates the run while traversing the bases and fielding the ball.
For people who have never experienced the joy that is watching T-Ball: Get thee to the ball field. The kids range in age from four to seven. Their skill level is typically non-existent. T-Ball is the precursor to Little League. Coaches are usually parents, and the primary goal is to minimize injuries while teaching inattentive children the finer points of the game. T-Ball is a perfect storm of comedy.

Players hit the ball off a Tee rather than having a pitcher throw it. When the ball is hit, it doesn’t matter where it goes on the field; every fielder will try to grab it, often tackling teammates who are in the way. If the batter remembers to run, they usually make it to first base before the melee over the ball ends. If the fielders manage to throw the ball toward first base, it is typically off-target, or the first baseman is off chasing butterflies.
Whether you get to see Jack Sparrow running the bases or a dance-off on second, T-Ball will have you smiling. These kids are always a true joy to watch.
