It can be tough for kids with food allergies to celebrate special occasions like birthdays with their friends. However, it helps when those friends remember to make accomodations! In a sweet video, one five-year-old boy was thrilled when he received an alternative to the cake he couldn’t eat. Although the big, colorful birthday cake looked delicious, the little boy was plenty happy with his allergy-friendly cupcake!
TikToker Sarah, who refers to herself as a “food allergy mom of two,” shared the adorable footage of her son at his friend’s birthday party online. She was so happy to see her little boy having a great time with the other kids.
“His sweet look as he waits patiently to get his safe chocolate cupcake just melts me,” wrote Sarah in her caption. “So grateful that the mom wanted to include my son.”
Many commenters were moved by the little boy’s joy when his food allergies were accommodated at his friend’s birthday party.
“Note to future self: make sure you check allergies so you can make the moments special for all,” wrote one user.
Another added, “Thankful for people that make sure our kids are included even when they don’t have to.”
It’s so important for little kids to able to participate in activities with their friends. That’s why it’s so special that this family decided to make sure that all of the guests at their child’s birthday party had a treat to eat, regardless of food allergies.
