Dorothy Wilson is 103 years old and has no plans of slowing down anytime soon. The cheerful centurion lives at a senior facility in Connecticut among friends and keeps her life very busy. You don’t live that long just sitting around as a couch potato. Dottie, as her friends and family call her, attends church, exercises, plays cards, and attends social events.

“My hobbies are people, because that’s what I like the most,” she told Today. “That’s the best part of living. It’s the people, it’s the people you meet.”
Dottie’s husband passed away in 2017 after 75 years of marriage. The pair raised four children and had a very happy life. Though she misses him, she has a lot of life left to live.
Being 103 Years Old is Pretty Simple if You Ask Dottie
Dottie told Today that remaining active and independent is important. She exercises daily and dresses herself.
“Nothing’s easy, but it’s not supposed to (be),” she said. “I think it’s good to get your strength.”
Dottie keeps her 103-year-old mind sharp by reading a lot on her Kindle and continuing to learn. She also loves to play games, like bridge, with friends. Her social life is one thing that Dottie will not compromise.
“That’s very important to me because I love people,” she said. “Everybody is so friendly.”
When it comes to your diet, Dottie says you should eat what makes you happy. Vegetables are a must because they provide a lot of essential nutrients. For Dottie, seafood stew is her weakness, and she loves it when the facility where she lives serves it.
The most amazing thing about 103-year-old Dottie isn’t how she keeps herself in physical shape; it’s what she does for her mind and soul. Her positive attitude is everything.
“I feel good all the time. Why not?” she said. “Doesn’t do any good to complain.”
