For a very special night in 2012, the Kennedy Center honored the great Paul McCartney. One of the greatest tributes of the night came with the mixed cover performance of “Let It Be” and “Hey Jude,” two of the Beatles’ most successful songs ever.

Starting with James Taylor on stage, the rendition was already off to a special start. Then Mavis Staples came on stage. It’s at this moment you can see Paul in the box, trying to hold back tears.
