She tries to keep a low profile about her giving but has given $4 million to charity through Silver Mountain Foundation for the Arts.

There isn’t just one celebrity who donated to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation during the recent actor strike. The foundation uses grants through its Emergency Assistance Fund to assist striking actors with living expenses. The recent strike went from July 14 through November 9, 2023. During that time, many actors had a rough time meeting basic needs. Through donations, the fund raised more than $15 million. Some of the largest donations came from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, and more. When discussing their gifts, most big-name donors recalled working as waiters, in retail, and other jobs during their early careers. They all expressed that giving back to the community was just “right.”
