Over the course of our existence, we meet people that touch our lives so much it is impossible to forget them.

For WestJet’s Customer Service Agent Laura, one of those unforgettable people is Ms. O’Connell, who was her teacher back in 1990.

More than three decades later, Laura crossed paths with Ms. O’Connell again, on board a WestJet flight – and on International Teacher’s Day! For this reason, Laura was determined to not take this moment for granted, and she decided to address the whole plane to praise her beloved teacher.

“This lady made me love Shakespeare, got me to play piano, I have my master’s in piano, and I can write an essay,” Laura said. “Thank you, Ms. O’Connell, I love you!”

As soon as she finished her beautiful words, Laura ran down the plane aisle to hug her teacher.

“You made my day today,” Ms. O’Connell said.

“You made my life,” Laura replied.

This moment only shows just how big of an impact teachers have on their students’ lives. It doesn’t matter if it has been a decade or three since the last time we saw them – their impact has no expiration date.

Watch this emotional moment in the video below, and don’t forget to share to show appreciation for teachers all around the world.
