Woman Shares Heartwarming Way Her Father Respects Her Boundaries With Her Kids

Grandparents are blessings in many ways. They’re there for free and reliable babysitting when parents need a night or weekend away, and they’re supportive when times get tough. But sometimes, they’re bad about respecting boundaries, especially when it comes to sweets and presents.

On TikTok, one woman named Tracy shared her experience with her kids’ spoil-prone grandfather, and followers are loving it.

In a cute video, she showed her dad dancing and playing with her young son. The two are clearly close, and her dad is a big presence in her kids’ lives. As she noted, he stopped by most days. But when he did, he’d bring “treats” like “candies and chocolates.”

Tracy appreciated the gesture, but kindly asked him to stop making the treats a daily thing. She didn’t want the kids getting used to having sugar every day.

Tracy’s dad happily respected her boundaries, but he didn’t want to show up to the house empty-handed each day. So he decided to start showing up with healthy alternatives—berries!

“Grandpa over here respecting boundaries by bringing berries,” she captioned. “Love him for that.”

Tracy’s followers praised the grandpa for the simple yet huge act.

“Someday they’ll be sitting in a break room eating strawberries and think about their grandpa and his love,” one person wrote.

“Sobbing,” another gushed. “We love a respectful grandpa king.”
