Losing a best friend at any age is devastating, but this is especially true when you’re still a kid. Unfortunately, this is an experience that a woman named Maggie Baker went through. At 15 years old, her best friend, Laura, passed away. This traumatic event left a lasting impact on the teen, and she struggled for years with depression. Still, she found a way to carry on.

Fast forward to today: Maggie is happily married. Not long ago, she and her husband started trying for a baby. As soon as she got pregnant, they knew if they had a girl her name would be Laura. As fate would have it, her doctor was happy to share that her baby was a female!
Everything seemed to be lining up perfectly for Maggie and her husband! Still, there was a sadness that came with the pregnancy. Even as an adult, Maggie still missed her best friend, wishing she could be here for this important milestone in her life. Then, while shopping at a local thrift store, a certain stuffed animal caught Maggie’s attention.
“I normally don’t give stuffed animals a second thought,” Maggie notes.

But this time was different. And once Maggie took a look at the tag attached to it, she felt that the reason couldn’t be clearer. On the tag, in the “from” section, was this: Aunt Laura. I can only imagine that this is what Maggie’s baby would have called her late best friend had she still been alive.
Finding this stuffed animal, something Maggie never even cares about normally, truly felt like such a loving sign from her best friend. Needless to say, it means the world to her! Plus, it’s reminding countless others that, even when someone is gone, we carry them with us.
“You gotta be kidding, this made my heart warm,” one person shares in the comments. “It’s good to know people you love never leave your side, never!!!”
