Woman In Wheelchair Shows Adorable Reason Why Her Service Dog Is Trained To Greet People On Cue

A woman in a wheelchair visits a Disney park with her service dog.

You probably already know not to pet service dogs while they’re working, but this is only partly true — sometimes, you just have to wait until these pooches greet you! A TikToker named Ashton, who uses a wheelchair, shared some key information about her four-legged friend. She has actually taught her dog a special command so that he knows when it’s ok to be friendly with someone and when he needs to focus. Her video shows the most wholesome footage of her pup saying hello to the cast members at one of Disney’s theme parks!

In the clips, Ashton says, “say hi,” to let her service dog know that it’s alright to greet someone. The way that this pooch switches from serious to playful as soon as he hears those words is way too cute! The TikToker shared this post in response to a comment she’d received online.

Replying to @Raymond Owens Humans don’t work without breaks, so why should service dogs? 😉 #servicedog #servicedogsoftiktok #servicedogteam #disneyparks #waltdisneyworld #hostedbydisney

“You’re not supposed to pet service dogs,” a user had written.

So, this owner decided to let her followers know that her pooch would be more than happy to give them cuddles, as long as he got the ok from her first!

“Humans don’t work without breaks, so why should service dogs?” Ashton wrote in her caption.

Of course, that still means that you shouldn’t go up to a service dog and start petting them unless their owner says it’s ok for them to greet you! However, it’s nice to know that these heroic pups can get cuddles from new friends.
