September 11, 2001, was a day that changed not just America, but the entire world. On the 25th anniversary of the devastating terrorist attacks, we remember the 2, 977 innocent lives lost and the heroes who emerged. In the United States, special events took place on Friday to commemorate the solemn anniversary. The Royal Guard stood in solidarity on the anniversary of 9/11 and paid a heartwarming tribute to the United States.

“Remembering all those affected by the tragic events of 9/11, 25 years ago today. A commemorative Guard Change took place on the forecourt of Buckingham Palace this morning, during which The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester took the Royal Salute on behalf of The King” the Royal family shared on Instagram. “The ceremony included performances of both US and UK National Anthems, Hymn to the Fallen and Amazing Grace.”

The Royal Guard’s 9/11 Tribute Touched Many Hearts

Seeing the Royal Guard honoring the victims and heroes of 9/11 meant a lot to many Americans. They took to social media to thank King Charles for his leadership and kindness.

“Thank you to all in the UK for remembering 9/11 and supporting the USA, even in difficult times. We appreciate you all,” a comment reads.

This person agreed, writing, “Thank you to our friends and closest allies in the UK for remembering and thinking of us. It still hurts, even 25 years later. This tribute feels like a warm hug.”

“Beautiful and moving tribute.  Remembering all those who lost their lives and everyone affected by the events of 9/11,” another message reads. “Never forgotten.”

According to the post, King Charles and Queen Camilla paid respects at the 9/11 Memorial in New York City during their state visit.
