Woman Buys “Vintage” Roller Skates Online… Turns Out They Were Hers 40 Yrs Ago!

A childhood toy, a cool shirt, or even an old CD: We all have that one thing (or more) that we regret letting go.

For Renée Forrestall, that “thing” was the pair of roller skates she used to wear during her teenage years. On her 60th birthday, she was able to confirm the accuracy of the popular saying, “what is meant for you will always find its way back to you.”

For her birthday, Renée decided to give roller-skating another shot after a 40-year hiatus. But after buying a new pair of skates, she felt disappointed because “they weren’t made as well as they used to be.” With this discovery, she decided to look for a vintage pair instead — that’s when she came across the perfect pair on Facebook Marketplace.

It caught Renée’s attention as the pair in the picture looked just like the one she used to own when she was a teen. Because of this, she decided to go ahead and buy them right away. When she tried them on, they fit perfectly — talk about a Cinderella story!

That’s when Renée decided to take a peek at the inside of the roller skates and… oh, surprise! Her name was written in her own handwriting. This proved that it was the same pair she owned as a teen and later regretted selling. After having this realization, Renée couldn’t help but cry.

“Something miraculous happened today,” she wrote in the TikTok where she shared her story.

There is no doubt that life works in mysterious ways and that it’s all about special moments just like this one!

Watch Renée’s special reunion with her 45-year-old roller skates, and don’t forget to share the joy with a friend.
