You never know when you’ll meet someone who will change your life. Alyssa, the owner of an off-leash dog walking program, learned this first-hand while hiking. With her was her massive great dane, Kernal. This adorable dog quickly caught the attention of a nearby elderly couple who were also on a hike.
When Alyssa took note of them, she decided to introduce the dog to the couple — this was just the start of their interactions. Soon, they saw each other all the time on the trail, quickly becoming Kernal’s adoptive grandparents. Then, one day, Grandma showed up without her husband.
She shared with Alyssa that her husband had passed away and that she came to the trail that day in hopes of finding them. Through this heavy loss, the two them only got closer. Now this grieving widow and Alyssa, who lost her Mom at a young age, have a new family: each other.
